East Village is the newest neighborhood in Central Arkansas. It was originally developed as the first Industrial District in Little Rock in the late 1800's. Wonderful old factories, tree-lined neighborhood streets, and historic homes are the backdrop for some of the most popular local food, beverage, and entertainment venues in Little Rock. New development in the area started with the construction of the Clinton Presidential Library and Heifer International in the early 2000's. More recently, pioneers such as Rebel Kettle and Lost Forty have paved the way to bring fresh business and traffic into the area while still retaining the overall industrial feel and authenticity. The area is also home to the Hangar Hill Historic District and the neighborhood of East Little Rock, a few of the city's oldest businesses, world class museums and institutions, a marina, several mixed use developments, and two schools.
